Nearly a month ago, I learned Neil Gaiman was coming to Naperville. For those of you who don’t know him, I’m sure your’ve heard of the movie “Coraline” if not, you better get to reading his books. Seriously, there’s no excuse, he writes for all ages, films, comics, and tv shows, so get on it! By the way, I recommend “The Graveyard Book” it’s one of my favorites 🙂
Anyways, me along with a few hundred fans packed into a local high school auditorium Wednesday night. All to hear Neil read excerpts from his books and answer questions. The audience gasped as announced his first reading was from “Good Omen,” then he read one of his children’s books, “Wolves in the Wall,” and ended with a special treat, the reading of his book, “Instructions,” that will be released in April. The audience blew-up with excitement to learn that we would be the first to hear and see this book.
Neil was witty and entertaining the whole night long. While reading questions from the audience, he included their signed character, like Sarah heart-and-smiley-face. It was refreshing to see how humble he was, even with all his successes. We got a glimpse into his world and how he thinks and what he feels. All in all, I was quite inspired by the evening. It gave me just the boost I needed to get my book on it’s way. Below is a link to his website for your reference.
