Merida, Mexico

Standard

Today we said goodbye to the beach and hello to the city of Merida. After a four hour bus ride, we arrived just in time for dinner. We checked into our hotel called, Hotel Del Gobernador, and set off to find a store or cheap taco stand. On our search for food, we happily stumbled upon the Sunday street market. Not only did we find food, we found DANCE! We walked up just in time to see the local Ballet Folklorico dance company. (I’ll write more about that on my website, www.offbeatballerina.com) We watched them perform a handful of famous dances followed by the locals taking over the dance floor. Then we headed towards the food stands and found several delicious and authentic Mexican food choices. It’s no surprise, I got the chicken tamales and Dan got the tacos. Following dinner we headed back to the hotel to work and check in with family…

More later 🙂
