Cartagena, Colombia

Standard

We spent six days in Colombia. One night in Bogotá, four days in Cartagena, and our last day was spent at the airport between them. While in Cartagena we did a lot of work and some sightseeing. During one of our sightseeing adventures, we explored the San Felipe Castle and came across some tunnels. The lighting was so cool how it bounced off the walls, Dan and I couldn’t help but get a little artistic. You can see a few of our artsy shots in the slidshow. We also went to the Inquisition Museum and walked the walled city at least four times. However, my favorite and most memorable day was Valentine’s Day. Dan and I went to a mud volcano, and it was the coolest thing! Hanging out in a volcano, that bubbled, how could that not be cool?! We laughed, drew pictures in the mud, and experimented with the weird gravitational pull. After 45 minutes in the volcano we climbed down the stairs and were rinsed off in the river by some women waiting for us. (Note: If you decide to do this, know that at some point you have to skinny dip in the river. It’s the only way to get all of the mud off and out of your suite.)

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a lot of time in Colombia and I know there’s so much more to see… Guess we’ll just have to go back!
