Rio de Janerio, Brazil

Standard

First off, I’ve got to say that Brazilians have got to be the most hospitable people in the world… or at least from what I’ve experienced so far. We felt very welcome in Brazil, and our hosts went to great lengths to ensure we were comfortable. Our trip was very relaxing compared to our normal work and explore trips. With mountains, a lake, the ocean, and a big city, it had everything I could ask for. Simply, Rio de Janerio is blessed by Mother Nature and I think it’s rubbed off on the people who live there. 🙂

While in Rio we stayed in Ipanema and a few nights in Copacabana. We explored a few tourists sights that are not to be missed, Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) and Corcovado (the big Christ statue). When not on our computers, we were at the beach enjoying a book or learning Portuguese via an iphone app. Dan got impressively red, however, I began to look like I belonged on Jersey Shore.

Brazil is such a big country and we only got to explore a small amount of it’s beauty. Although we had to jump through some hoops getting visas on the road, it was well worth it! You can bet that Dan and I will visit Brazil again someday.

Also, enjoy this video of Dan getting his butt kicked by some waves 😉

Next stop Morocco!
